Jennifer Lewis joined the Micronesia and South Pacific Program in January 1999 as a
Graduate Teaching Fellow. She assists in daily program activities and in the preparatory
course for TAs planning to work in the Pacific islands ("Experiencing
Crossing Cultures").
Jennifer has worked extensively overseas in Brazil, Japan, and Belize. Most recently
she worked as a Biological Research Assistant tagging sea turtles in Costa Rica. This
experience solidified her commitment to international environmental projects and deepened
her understanding of how vital community participation is for any successful conservation
project. Now, as a first year graduate student in the Community and Regional Planning
Program, she is developing her skills in environmental planning with an emphasis on
community participation.
Jennifer spent three years working at a public television stations and hopes to use
video for environmental education projects.
