	Average Student Assessment of Classroom Light Level for Reading and Writing Very surprising was that South Pod classrooms with windows facing South were considered to be the darkest. In fact, South Pod classrooms in general were considered the darkest of the pods. Predictably, however, classrooms in the West Pod with westerly windows were deemed most well lit. Average Teacher Assessment of Classroom Light Level for Reading and Writing Teachers in the south pods indicated that their classrooms were darker than needed for reading and writing activity. This corresponds to the responses given by students, and is similarly surprising considering the south-facing classrooms should be receiving the greatest amount of sunlight throughout the day in winter months.
