Content
- Does the description have a title that promises exactly what
is delivered?
- Have the item's overall features, as well as each part, been
described?
- Has each part been defined before it is discussed?
- Has the function of each part been explained?
- Have comparisons with more familiar items been used whenever
possible?
- Have visuals been used to provide clarification when
needed?
- Will the intended reader be able to visualize the item from
the description (even if the reader has never seen a similar item
before)?
- Are any details unnecessary or confusing?
- Does the description answer these questions: what is it? what
does it do? what does it look like? what is it made of? how does
it work? and, how has it been put together?
Arrangement
- Does the description follow an introduction-body-conclusion
structure?
- Does a list of the major parts appear at the end of the
introduction?
- Does the description follow the clearest possible
sequence?
- Are the headings appropriate and adequate?
- Are transitions between related ideas sufficient?
Style
- Is the description objective, with all relevant, observable
details recorded in precise, factual language?
- Will the level of technicality connect with the intended
audience?
- Is the description written in plain English?
- Is each sentence clear, concise, and fluent?
- Is the description in correct English?

list any elements that you believe are particularly well written.
