Assignment 3: Working with County assessment data and developing plot plans

[Home | Overview | Syllabus | Schedule | Links]

Background

We discussed using County Assessment data and creating plot plans in class. This assignment will require you to get County Assessment data for your residence and create a plot plan.

The Assignment:

Go to the public computer terminals at the Lane County Assessors Office (basement of the County building, 125 E. 8th Ave) and perform a search for the property you live in (or another property of your choice if you live on campus). Use the terminal closest to the printer that has the Web interface. Print out the four-page report on the property, and the 16th section assessment map.

Draw a plot plan of the building you in. Be sure to draw it to scale and include all the elements described in the City of Seattle guidelines in the reading packet. You aren’t required you to look up the legal description, but you should include a legal description (use the standard format we discussed in class). If you don’t have access to a 100’ tape, pace off the dimensions.

The assignment is due in class on Thursday, February 28.
