Graduate teaching fellows: To be announced
Field geology is a 10 quarter-hour six week course (16 June to 27
July)
attended by students from the University of Oregon and other
universities.
The course emphasizes the gathering of geologic data in order to
produce
high-quality geologic maps, geologic structure sections, and detailed
stratigraphic
columns. Each project emphasizes problem solving in geology. The
training and background acquired by students in this course is
essential
for careers in geology, mining, petroleum, and environmental and
engineering
sciences.

In addition, those students who wish to live in campus dorms while
at
the University of Oregon (June 15, 16 and July 26) will need to pay an
extra $150 to cover those costs. If you want to stay in a UO
dorm, please contact us before April 15.
Other costs include lunch supplies while in Dillon, dinner or lunch expenses for one or two nights while on the road. Students will also want to bring some personal spending money.
Non-University of Oregon students who want to be considered for admission, need to apply by Friday, February 15, 2008. Your application must include a letter of recommendation from one of your university faculty members. If accepted (we'll notify you by February 29), you must submit a non-refundable $100 deposit by April 1, 2008. Late-comers will be considered on a space-available basis.
It is also important that when you apply for Field Camp that you
fill
out the application completely. This includes the sections
concerning
allergies
or medical problems as well as dietary requirements, such as being
vegetarian,
vegan, or other. We would also like to know if you are first aid, CPR,
or similarly qualified. Please include your e-mail address on
the
application.
