Introduction
|
Static
web places that most of us have come accustomed to are rapidly
becoming a thing of the past. The sites that are defining the
future are artistic compositions that effectively combine graphics,
function, movement, and sound into a navigational environment
that is compelling. Many of these places already exist, more than
one might initially expect, and they continue to evolve in previously
undefinable ways. Most of these sites have links to each other,
forming a metaphorical "truss" of inteligencia.
This report poses as a navigational assistant to help those interested
to become immersed.

One is
greeted to this site with a beautifully photo manipulated illustration
that has a catch: entrance is unattainable unless one interactively
solves a subtle puzzle. The synthesis of music, dynamic rollover
navigation buttons and moving typography intuitively suggest a path.
Once inside, Java script rollovers highlight an icon-based navigational
bar at the top of each page. The companies philosophy is clearly
stated, and their work process is clearly outlined with clever diagrams.
A portfolio of work showcases their strengths for designing on the
web. |

This is Sung H. Chang's self-promotional site which succeeds in
showing what good web design should look like. His strong grasp
of Java scripting, quicktime video, and Shockwave streaming audio
create a holistic place that embodies his convictions, work, hobbies,
interests, and "contempt" for bad web design. Of additional interest
is the fact that he is an Architecture graduate.
