description

This course conveys how computer technologies can support cooperative design. Participants will try out methods for sharing ideas over the Internet and learn about emerging methods for remote collaboration. Students will examine related projects and look at how designers work with clients, consultants, contractors, artists and peers.

During the course, students will create a Web -based representation of a local site and act as clients for partners from other schools. Incorporation of drawings and models through image-capture and image manipulation will be encouraged.

Course participants will learn about exchanging ideas with remote partners through Web publishing, desktop video-conferencing and application sharing. Each week the class will have one computer skills workshop and one discussion session. Students will record their reflections on readings, experiments & discussions and present an analysis of one topic.
