A primary focus of my work over the last 15 years has been the development of a green general chemistry laboratory curriculum and the authoring of a general chemistry laboratory manual that focuses on green chemistry and sustainability issues. I am also involved in curriculum and student assessment and have served on several American Chemical Society Examinations Institute committees. I currently co-chair the Institute's laboratory assessment exam committee. This will be the first ACS exam to focus on the general chemistry laboratory and the first exam explicitly designed to be delivered on-line.
