Success Utilizing Peer Resources in Chemistry

SUPeR Chemistry

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Welcome to the web site for SUPeR Chemistry - the supplemental instruction program which has been designed to aid General Chemistry students in their quest to succeed at the University of Oregon. Our goal is to help new students develop a sense of belonging and to inspire these students to take an active role in their learning process.

The SUPeR Chemistry program utilizes undergraduate Peer Learning Assistants (or PLAs) to lead small group study sessions. These sessions will incorporate skills necessary to succeed in chemistry and life at the university. In addition to problem solving and learning the material, PLAs will be happy to help with time management, note taking, textbook reading, exam and quiz preparation, and test taking strategies.

These small group study sessions begin the second week of every term. All sessions are voluntary and informal. Students may attend as many or few sessions as they find helpful.

Peer Learning Assistants

All PLAs are undergraduate students who have previously been successful in the courses they are now tutoring. PLAs will share the successful study habits that they have developed as they lead SUPeR Chemistry study sessions.
