GIGS
No regular bass gigs at present. I play occasionally for Folk Mass at Church of the Resurrection (Episcopal) in Eugene, Oregon, where I also sing in the choir.

• Fernandes LEB J-4. Passive Jazz-style 4-string electric bass. See review. This bass is usually strung with either Thomastik Jazz flatwounds (comments & impressions) or Gore Elixirs.
• Kay M-1 upright bass with Tomastik Spirocore Weich strings & Underwood bridge piezo pickups

• Bass On The Net (www.talkbass.com): Nice site even though it includes some advertising. The threaded discussion sections for double bass & electric bass are useful. Anyone can read, but (free) registration is required to post.

• CHURCHBASS: Believe it or not, an entire discussion group about playing the bass in church. Subscription info is posted on the site.

• The Bottom Line (TBL): THE big listserv for bassists, especially electric bassists. Subscription info is posted on the site.

• Carol Kaye's website. Have you ever listened to the radio, watched movies, or turned on the TV? If so, chances are good you have heard her play. Carol maintains a lively discussion group and provides lots of playing tips.
