We visited Slovenia on a Country Walkers trip in August, 2016 with guides Roman Križanič and Irena Silic, who were amazing. The tour was billed as a walking adventure, but there were also a number of highlights, such as the WW I museum in Kobarid, that involved very little walking. And of course we were treated to remarkable food and wine.
The pictures here are only a small sample of all of the ones we took, but we hope they give some sense of the overall experience. We arrived early in the capital, Ljubljana, and spent a little time there after the tour as well, so our picture sequence begins and ends there. For the most part, although there are people in a few of them, the shots just show the beautiful scenery.
You can see the pix and navigate around fairly easily. This link opens a sort of slide show. Click on any small picture to see it blown up. "Previous," "Up" and "Next" will then let you navigate through the whole set or take you back to the full thumbnail collection. Note that there are two pages of thumbnails. To get back to this page from thumbnails, click the "back to main directory" link.
We're also posting a few videos, as much for the sound as for the action.
