We visited New Zealand on a Country Walkers trip in January 2017 guided by the knowledgable Yvonne Cook and Brenda George. The tour was primarily a walking adventure, but we were also treated to the usual CW outstanding food and drink.
The pictures here are only a few of the ones we took, but we hope they give some sense of the overall experience. We arrived early in Queenstown and enjoyed the botanical garden there, so our picture sequence begins with a view of the Remarkables. Although there are people in a few pictures, by and large the selections focus on the beautiful scenery we encountered on our walks.
I'm trying a method, new to me, of presenting our adventure by putting high-resolution pictures with captions on DropBox, where you can see them with a sort of slide show and can download any that strike your fancy. The titles of the pictures include the dates and times of day when they were taken. Click this link to get to DropBox and then click on a picture to enter the viewing process. To go back and forth, click on the < and > signs in the bar at the bottom of the screen. Firefox does a good job. Using Safari, I find that choosing the Full Screen option makes the pictures too large to show the captions. I haven't tried other browsers. Experiment to see what works best for you, and please let me know your reactions to this presentation style.
Here are also a couple of videos, as much for the sound as for the action. There was a much bigger avalanche at Rob Roy glacier before I could get the camera out to record this one.
We hope you enjoy seeing some of the reasons why we had such a memorable experience.
