MR HEAD WO & W CONTRAST ASG
Signs and Symptoms: Follow up brain tumor.
MRI BRAIN WITHOUT AND WITH CONTRAST
IMPRESSION:
1.
Large infiltrating neoplasm of the brainstem demonstrates progression into
the cerebellar vers on the current study.
2.
Interval enlargement of the subependymal nodules in the bilateral frontal
lobes with increased extension acreoss the body of the corpus callosum.
3. The ventricular system is stable in size.
4. Findings were discussed with Dr. Bradshaw at the time of the dictation.
INDICATION: Brain tumor.
TECHNIQUE:
Multiplanar MR imaging of the brain was performend with and without contrast,
4 cc of Magnevist.
COMPARISON: Prior MRIs, 9-6-06, 7-10-06 and 3-3-06.
FINDINGS:
An infiltrating neoplasm involving the brainstem and left pons is again
identified.
There is increased T2 abnormality within the cerebellar vermis on the current
study suggesting progression of disease. The abnormal areas of increased
T2 signal intensity involving the subependymal regions of the frontal
horns of the lateral ventricles also have increased in size. Increased
T2 abnormality across the body of the corpus callosum is also seen. There
is heterogenous enhancement of the right frontal horn leison. T1
hyperintensity within the left lateral pons is likely related to post
treatment changes.
A ventricular shunt from a right frontal approach is seen.
The ventricular system is stable in size.
There is effacemnt of the pepontine cistern as a result of the tumor.
No cerebellar tonsillar herniation is seen at this time.
No significant extra-axial fluid is seen.
The bones demonstrate post surgical changes from the shunt placement.
