Information on the Faculty Personnel Committee

The Faculty Personnel Committee (FPC) consists of 10 tenured Officersof Instructionwho are also voting faculty members. Decisions on promotionand tenure atthe university level are, in part, made by this committee.

ELIGIBILITY from CAS: The candidates must be tenured and Officers of Instruction. No two persons from the same CAS department may serve onthe FPC at the same time. Thus no person from Computer Information Science, Psychology, or Economics may be nominated.In addition, the following are ineligible for nomination:the president, theprovost, vice presidents, vice provosts, associate or assistant vice provostsand vice presidents, deans, associate deans ortheir equivalent, and departmentheads. The term ofoffice is two years, June 16, 2001 - June15, 2003.

ELIGIBILITY from professional schools/colleges: The candidates must be tenured and Officers ofInstruction.No two persons from the same professional school or college may serve on theFPC at the same time. Thus no person from the Journalism and Communications or Music may be nominated. In addition, the following are ineligible for nomination: the president,the provost, vice presidents, vice provosts, deans, associate deans or their equivalent.   Theterm of office is two years, June 16, 2001 - June15, 2003.

No person may serve simultaneouslyon the FAC and FPC.  Faculty who have served two of the past three years on the FPC are ineligible to serve.

Prof. schools/colleges -- 3 positions open  (but not from Journalism and Communications or Music)
