Take a look at:
"3-D Starmaps" at <http://www.clark.net/pub/nyrath/starmap.html>

And try out a program called "Circumspace". It shows a lot of nearby stars
while you can move anywhere around/between them. (It may not be exactly
what you want, but it may come close to it.)
