Firn Line on Dinwoody Glacier. Wind River Range, Wyoming.

The light snow above the firn line fell during the previous winter or spring and has survived the summer's warmth--it's definately in the zone of accumulation! Below the line, however, older gray-colored ice is exposed because the previous winter's snow has melted off.
