Observation Flights

11.  You must be registered as a Continuing Education student at LCC.

If you participated in the "orientation" at the Lane Aviation Academy and filled out the blue form, you will soon be registered. If you did not submit the blue form, you will need to contact Peggy Sherman to register before you can fly with LCC.  This is essential from a liability perspective.

2.  You must be dressed appropriately.

For safety reasons, LCC does not permit wearing shorts or sandals in college airplanes.

3.  You must make an appointment for the flight.

Contact Dr. Harvey Birdseye via e-mail and be sure to include your name, an e-mail address to which you have frequent access and a proposed flight time or times.

You should request a flight slot based on a time of day and day of the week. In  most cases, the observation flights will be made during instrument instruction flights and these flights may be done, at least in part, in actual (IMC) instrument conditions (i.e., in clouds). Typically, these flights will not be longer that about 1.3 hours.

Because there are a number of variables for each flight, someone may need to contact you, via e-mail, and reset a previously set appointment. So check your e-mail before you head to the airport.  You may request several time blocks to enhance the likelihood that one will be available. Observers must plan to be at the
Flight Technology Center at least 15 minutes before their scheduled flight times. Most of the four-place airplanes have headset jacks for the backseat passengers and we will make an effort to make headsets available.

We fly Monday through Saturday:
