Re: sac-class: LCC task force minutes and revised outline
I think the outline will work, but I would like some clarification/detail
on what will be covered under the module Basic notation and basic
cuttering. This would include the class number, decimal expansion, LC
cutter table, book numbers, dates, work letters? Do we introduce
collocation here? Or is this just a formal analysis, something like
"deconstructing the LC call number," with the function of some of the
elements (collocation/differentiation) postponed until shelflisting toward
the end? But the special types of material module may not make sense
unless collocation has been introduced earlier. Would collocation be
introduced in the Purpose of Classification module instead?
Also, is double cuttering covered in Principles?
Minutes looked OK to me.

Hi everyone,
I have written up draft minutes from our meeting in Chicago and also
revised the draft course outline based on our discussions. Both documents
are available on our web page:

Please take a look at the draft minutes and let me know if you have any
corrections. Look over the revised outline as well and see if that
reflects the changes we discussed in our meeting. Once we are OK with the
shape of the outline, I'll ask for your preferred sections to work on.
