Thesis Seminar--Bishop, Spring 2006
  Monday, noon to 2:00 pm
  303 Chapman
Please note: Because we have a class of sixteen,
our schedule must be rigorously followed. Please note that we will have two
thesis presentations during our regularly scheduled exam week time slot.
PRESENTER'S RESPONSIBILITIES for PRESENTATION:
   - Arrange for your thesis advisor to attend your presentation

 - Distribute copies of prospectus ONE WEEK BEFORE PRESENTATION, in other words
at our seminar meeting the week prior to your time slot

EACH STUDENT'S RESPONSIBILITIES FOR EACH CLASS:
  - Before the class meeting, read and critique in writing that week's
    prospectuses .

 - Write these detailed critiques on the prospectus copy itself or on a separate
sheet. Each critiqued prospectus, signed by the critic, will be given to the
    presenter.

 - Prepare questions for the speaker. Each week one of you will be chosen as
    lead questioner.

 - Additionally, each presenter will have a format reviewer
who, provided with an article from the main journal in the presenter's field
or with a style manual, will go over the prospectus's format with a fine-toothed
    comb.
