The labs are an opportunity to practice what you've learned in a guided situation since an instructor will be available. In some instances, the labs will, in fact, be an opportunity for the instructors to expand upon a topic. BUT the primary value of the lab is to provide you with the environment that you will need to complete a successful term project.
