TABLE OF CONTENTS
As part of a larger effort to bring UO faculty salaries to competitive parity with comparable institutions, the University of Oregon (UO) contracted with the Oregon Survey Research Laboratory (OSRL) to conduct research on instructional faculty members' opinions on the principles and criteria that might be used to raise compensation. Working closely with representatives of the Faculty Advisory Council, University Senate, and administration, OSRL planned, pretested, and implemented a telephone survey of 260 instructional faculty in late January and early February, 2000. This report summarizes the survey methodology and results. In it, we also compare this survey's results to the key results of a parallel mail-out/mail-back questionnaire conducted simultaneously with the telephone survey.
