Personal Descriptions

Lauren Cover is a junior double-majoring in Environmental Studies and Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. One of her high school classes in West Linn, Oregon, gave her an interest in environmental issues that has and will continue to be a part of her life. She wanted to be involved with this project because it connects both of her majors; what she learns in this program can be applied to any future career of hers. She feels that this is a very exciting project to be a part of because in the near future, the rest of the business world will have to act like our client in changing the way they interact with the environment.

Luke Annala-Kinne is a third year student, double-majoring in Environmental Studies and Political Science.  Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, his ideals and activity interests were predetermined to include the diverse environments and beautiful landscapes of the region.  A graduate of Sunset High School in Beaverton, Luke focused his studies on business and marketing, declaring as a Journalism:Advertising student.  He recently completed the Business Administration minor at the U of O and in an attempt to reconnect to his Northwest roots, re-declared as an Environmental Studies major.  Soon after, he was accepted into the Environmental Leadership Program under the Corporate Sustainability Team division.  This team is a perfect fit for Luke, being an organization that combined his two interests, business and the environment, into a socially constructive project with hands on experience.

Lindsay Riddell is a junior at The University of Oregon majoring in Environmental Studies and History.  After becoming vegan and discovering the connection between one’s food choices and environmental degradation, Lindsay developed a deep interest in how humans affect their environment, and became motivated to understand how social and cultural attitudes and behaviors influence one’s everyday choices concerning the environment. When Lindsay first heard about the Sustainability Project she knew it was something she wanted to be a part of thinking it would be a great opportunity to apply her education to the issues that interest her most in order to educate others and initiate positive change.  

Richard Burton is a senior majoring in Environmental Studies.  He has valued his education for giving him a broad background knowledge of regional environmental issues.  His studies have also given him an international perspective by studying abroad in Mexico for a summer where he lived with a host-family.   His hometown is Medford in Southern Oregon where he attended high school and enjoyed the region's outdoor recreation opportunites with his family.  At the UO, he is participating in the Outdoor Leadership Program teaching rock climbing classes at the university’s rockwall.  His favorite pastime is climbing outdoors, weather permitting in Oregon.  He is excited to participate in this project as a transition from his classroom education to the workplace.
