Downtown Riverfront Proposals

In Jarrod Levin and Jeremy Alden's plan for the downtown park area, the park is extended north and south and the Gazebo area is enhanced with planting and places to sit. A new ramp descends to the river. Their proposal to close a portion of First Street to deepen the riverfront park in this area is shown in the next larger view.

Several plans for this area called for a new riverfront landing. In John Krausser's proposal, basalt steps organize the rip-rap at the river's edge and offer new places to fish or view the Willamette.

Allison Rouse's proposal for the area north of the Gazebo and boatlaunch would provide a new park place, a small clearing and other downtown recreation by the river.
