| Eric McNair, the youngest member of the All Stars at 22, had just established himself in the Majors during the 1932 season. Known as a scrappy, likable player and devoted family man he took his wife's death in 1937 particularly hard. Turning to alcohol he died tragically just before his 40th birthday. |
