The aim of this course is to introduce the following directions in Algebraic and Geometric Topology:
    • Cobordism Theory: New and Old

    • Determinants of Elliptic Operators (following Quillen's paper)

    • The Yang-Mills Equations over Riemannian Surfaces (following Atiyah-Bott paper)

    • Watanabe work on homotopy groups of BDiff∂(Dn)

We will explore these topics through in-class discussions and individual consultations during my office hours. Student presentations will take place during weeks 8, 9, and 10.
