Description:

The Summary Portfolio is a document that elegantly displays your work this term.  It should be a summation of the information you have learned and an example of your prowess with AutoCAD r14.  It should be a document you would feel comfortable including in a personal portfolio when applying for employment.

Format:

Size:

Any, 8-1/2" x 11" recommended

Paper:

Any

Layout:
  • Remember:  Make it compelling!  You are trying to impress someone.  This could be a JOB we're talking about.
  • Use a consistent layout (basically the same for each drawing except the Title Page and Table of Contents).  Each subsequent sheet in the set should have a page number and title.
  • Include a title sheet with an impressive view of one of your drawings from this quarter.  Chose an image that is both interesting in itself and also shows you have some skill manipulating this software.  Include your name, date, class title, and instructor name on the title page.
  • While you will need to somehow generate images from your AutoCAD files, you may use any technique you like for the final product. That is, you are not limited to AutoCAD and it's printing abilities.  I would suggest, however, that unless you have amazing hand-lettering that you use the computer for typesetting.
  • For each drawing listed under Contents below, include a title and drawing scale.  Consider combining drawings on a single page where there are logical associations.  For example, use a key plan on section drawings.   Also include a north arrow for all plans.

Contents:

The order is up to you...
  • Cover/Title Page
  • Table of Contents
  • Primary content to be determined during class...
  • Any other drawings related to your work this quarter that you wish to include
