Assignment 4.2:
Detailing Connections
Objectives:
To advance your interior design by developing a vocabulary of material assemblage
Problem Description:
Articulate your design through designing elements in detail.
Procedure
1) PRECEDENT STUDY
Examine articles in your environment and select something that gives you visual delight. Find something that has the characteristics that you want for your design.
Draw the object to scale so it fills a 11" x 17" sheet of paper.
2) DESIGN
Design one piece of furniture and one planar system or element (ceiling, wall, floor, opening) that shows how materials will be brought together.
Draw these pieces on an 11" x 17" sheet. Draw the whole or components of the piece at the same scale as your found object in step 1.
3) RENDERING
Model the pieces in 3D and insert them into a room model of your design. Render the room showing two different lighting effects.
