Michel Gorzalczany was an innkeeper in Czyzewo, as were several of his descendants.
The name Gorzalczany may come from an occupation. Gorzelnik means alcohol distiller (from a list of Polish occupations).
In Israel some Gorzalczanys have changed the name to Marmori or Marmary, which means bitter in Hebrew.

Czyzew Poland is 28 miles from Lomza. It used to be known as Czyzewo. The Czyzewo Yizkor Book has been partially translated.
Dov Gorzalczany and Arja Gorzalczany, who have written sections, may be descendents of this family.
