Fault Gouge
Here are some images of fault gouge from the Badwater Turtleback fault in Death Valley, California. This fault has at least several km of slip and displays incredible exposures of gouge. The gouge shows many features indicative of ductile flow such as isoclinally folded and transposed foliation, isolated and rotated porphyroclasts, and small-scale injection features. It also displays major thickness changes which I interpret to be products of ductile flow during stable sliding on the fault.
