"As 
            soon as you got off Highway 101 you'd breathe a sigh of relief and 
            know you were home, the tension would fall away going up river. Up 
            by the gorge it smelled of myrtlewood (greasewood) and the air was 
            something tangible like you could take a bite, like you could live 
            off of it. Euphoric recall- the smells of places are really powerful
