Yuan Xu
- I am a professor in the
Mathematics Department
at the University of Oregon.
-
My research is in analysis (numerical analysis, approximation theory,
special functions, harmonic analysis). My interest is mostly on problems
in several variables, such as orthogonal polynomials in several variables,
cubature formulas and related approximation problems. Recently my interest
also extends to computed tomography.
-
I am on the editorial board of
East J. on Approximations
and
J. Approximation Theory, and I'm an executive editor of
Numerical Mathematics :
Theory, Methods and Applications.
-
Here is my
list of publications. Some older papers are listed in .ps.gz format,
which can be opened with "ghostview" (no "unzip" needed).
- You can view a
picture
of me if you have the time.
- Here is my
name
in Chinese.
Teaching
- I'm teaching
Math 4/522 (Differential Equantions/Fourier Series)
in Spring, 2008.
-
My office is at 11 B, Deady Hall; Phone: 541-346-4729. I'm available in
person during office hour (MWF 11:00-12:00)
and by appointment.
