A student who is unconditionally admitted to the Graduate School may earn a WGS Graduate Certificate as an unclassified graduate student, as a complement to an individually designed interdisciplinary master's degree with a focus on women's studies, or as an enhancement to a graduate degree in another discipline. Current Graduate Teaching Fellowship Opportunities
The Deparatment of Women's & Gender Studies offers several Graduate Teaching Fellowships (GTF) each year to graduate students pursuing their degrees in graduate programs across the University. GTFs usually teach their own sections of WGS 101 or the feminist pedagogy seminar under the supervision of the faculty. Successful candidates for the positions may serve as a facilitator for WGS 101 and are often pursuing their graduate certificate in women's and gender studies.
Applications are due in late-March and selections are made in April for the following academic year. Applications for GTF positions are available in the Department of Women's & Gender Studies office, 315 Hendricks Hall.
Fall 2009: Upper Division Course
The Department of Women's & Gender Studies (WGS) is seeking applications for potential Graduate Teaching Fellows for Fall 2009.

The Department of Women’s & Gender Studies is seeking one qualified applicant for Graduate Teaching Fellowships at .49 FTE for fall term 2009. The successful candidate will teach one of the following courses:
Responsibilities include class administration, lectures and evaluation and grading of students' performance.
Salary is determined by the GTFF bargaining contract, which mandates salary ranges based on academic level. The fellowship includes a tuition waiver for the term of employment. Health insurance and student fees are also subsidized.

2009 – 2010: WGS 101 Courses

The Department of Women’s & Gender Studies is seeking at least five qualified applicants for Graduate Teaching Fellowships at .49 FTE for the 2009-10 academic year (fall 2009, winter 2010, and spring 2010). The successful candidates will act as section leaders for WGS 101, an introductory Women's and Gender Studies course (WGS 101) in fall quarter, and will teach this course independently in winter and spring terms. Responsibilities include class administration, lectures, selection and supervision of facilitators for discussion groups, office hours, weekly sessions for facilitators, weekly sessions with faculty supervisors and evaluation and grading of students' performance. Lectures will be scheduled throughout the week.

A copy of the current 101 syllabus will be sent by email when we receive your request; it can also be picked up at our office.
