Location: Addition to Villard Hall/Robinson Theatre, 1109 Old Campus Lane; renovation of Robinson Theatre.

Size: 20,000 gsf new construction (addition + expanded lobby); 6,000 gsf renovations.

Legislative Authorization: 2003 Legislative - HB 5028 (as 100% gift funds); reauthorized by 2005 Legislative - SB 5028 as gift an G-bonds.

Expenditure Limitation and Total Project Budget: $7,900,000 ($3,950,000 in G-bonds and $3,950,000 in gifts)

Project Description

The $7,900,000 project designed by Thomas Hacker Architects of Portland, expanded and remodeled the current facilities to create an integrated complex of theaters lobbies, shops, studios, and other teaching spaces needed to teach theater arts.  The project added approximately 20,000 gsf of new construction (one addition and expanded lobby), including a new 3,000 sf black-box theater—the "Hope"—and ancillary facilities; Robinson Theatre also was renovated with reconfigured and newly tiered seating.  Construction began in November 2007 with completion in fall 2008.  Contractor:  Fortis Construction, Lake Oswego.
