Subject: Faculty Salary increases for 99/01

Colleagues:

OSU Faculty Senate President Ken Williamson asked the Faculty Economic Welfare and Retirement Committee to try to track what is happening on some other OUS campuses regarding faculty salary increases. You may recall that I contacted you about this issue early in the Fall Quarter. Well, now that the dust has settled and we know what is happening, I thought I would ask what were the results at your campus. Here at OSU, the administration essentially tried to ignore input from the faculty in making their final decisions. What they finally decided upon though, was 2% on January 1, 2000 and 2.5% on January 1, 2001. These increases are to be distributed on an across the board basis for satisfactory service. There is apparently to be no merit increase in this biennium. We would be interested to know what has been decided at your university. Thanks, and have a great holiday season! Steve Davis, Chair
