 Dear Tom:
 
 The proximate cause for this email was the article on the front page of
 the Register Guard today concerning the River Front Research Park:
 "Eugene officials say riverfront partnership with UO is too one-sided".
 (http://www.registerguard.com).
 
 I am writing to you to invite you to address the UO Senate at the 1
 December meeting of the UO Senate. Several members of the Executive
 Committee of the UO Senate have sent me questions concerning the River
 Front Research park which you might want to touch on:
 
    1) give a report on the status of  the RRP;
    2) discuss the current and future state of affairs between  the City
 and the University regarding the research park and its  funding;
    3) discuss the rationale behind the formation of a  University
 Committee to review the expansion of the research park  and the
 reasoning behind the composition of this committee; and
   4) discuss how the Administration plans to respond to the 2 RRP-
 related motions passed by last year's Senate.
 
 The senate has taken up the question of the River Front Research Park
 several times in the past and I thought it might well be appropriate for
 you to give us an update at this time.
