At the suggestion of the Senate Rules Committee, I am appointing an ad hoc committee to look into the matter. Senator Paris will chair the committee, Senator Jane Gray will serve on the committee. Those two senators should nominate two additional members of the committee (an officer of instruction and an officer of administration) who I will then appoint. The committee will make a recommendation to the UO Senate at the 8 March 2000 meeting with a hope that action on the recommendation can take place at the 12 April 2000 meeting.
