Information on the Undergraduate Council (UC)
The Undergraduate Council (UC) has 10 elected faculty members: 5 members
from CAS (1 each from humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences,
and 2 at-large), and 5 members (1 each) from the professional schools and
colleges with undergraduate programs. The Undergraduate Council is charged
with reviewing, evaluating, and enhancing the quality of the university's
undergraduate program.
QUALIFICATIONS: Nominees must be members of the voting faculty.
No two persons from the same department in CAS may serve at the same time.
The term of office is three years, June 16, 2002 - June 15, 2005.
The Committee on Committees and secretary, with help from the senate,
will fill out the ballot if an insufficient number of nominees is received
by the secretary. The secretary is instructed by faculty legislation to
remove from nomination persons who do not qualify under the rules established
by the faculty.
