The Philosophical Collaborations Conference will bring to campus faculty and their graduate students from other universities who are working together on topics related to our theme of "Embodiment." The conference is intended to emphasize the collaborative character of education and research, and it highlights the work of graduate students, who jointly present their work with their faculty collaborators and also serve as commentators.
Presenters will include: Barbara Formis, Lecturer at the Department of Philosophy at the Sorbonne University in Paris; Richard Shusterman, Chair in the Humanities and Professor of Philosophy at Florida Atlantic University; Gail Weiss, Assistant Professor of Philosophy at George Washington Univeristy; Diana Santillan, Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Women's & Gender Studies Program at Georgetown University; Rafael Núñez, Associate Professor in the Department of Cognitive Science at the University of California in San Diego; and Kensy Cooperrider, Graduate Student in the Department of Cognitive Science at the University of California in San Diego.
This year's conference is scheduled for 7:30-8:50pm, Friday, May 11, 2007, and 9:00am-4:50pm, Saturday, May 12, 2007, in room 125 McKenzie Hall.
