- Liz Parr was excepted to the University of Oregon PhD
program
- Helen Burham was excepted to the City University of New
York PhD program
- Kara Burns??? Was excepted to the University of Washington
Ph.D. program
- Nissie Ellison presented a paper on the documentation of
the Women’s Building at the Chicago fair of 1893 at Princeton University’s
graduate Symposium
Graduate Symposium
- Liz Parr suggested a graduate symposium for 2003-4. The
membership approved and Liz Parr was voted committee chair.
Art Collecting Project (Violet Clark, Committee Chair)
- She will contact with the visual arts department and local
galleries to determine if there is enough artist interest to hold a
competition. She is also researching possible space for holding a
competition and displaying acquisitions
First Friday Art Walk
- Meet at 5pm at Café Paradiso on Friday, May 2. The White
Lotus exhibit is expected to be great.
PAM trip
- Portland Art Museum is having a Colonial American Art and
Decorative Arts exhibit. They have also added to their silver
collection. A trip is planned for Sunday, May 4. Contact Gayle

Graduate Student Faculty Liaison (Clare Redhead and
Gayle Goudy Kochanski)
- New Contemporary Architecture Faculty Position: The
faculty search committee has invited Noah Chasin, Deborah Hurtt, and Alona
for interviews. They will have class emonstrations and research
presentations and the faculty has invited all students to attend and voice
opinions.
