Beth Shershun's 1st grade class – Gilham Elem

Assist teachers in their school garden

The Urban Farm class requires three Saturday work sessions, focusing on general work around the farm, not in your team beds.  In exchange for those work sessions, you can make three visits to a local school of your choice.

This will give you an opportunity to work directly with teachers and children in their garden, providing services and support to schools that are educating K-12 students with gardening projects.

Requirements:

·         Choose a site that interests you – see school list.

·         Confirm that you're available for the time that teachers have set up for gardening.

·         Confirm that you're available to meet 3 different times with that class / teacher.

·         Coordinate school selection with Lorri prior to contacting SGP Site Coordinator.

·         Contact the SGP Site Coordinator to schedule school visits / work sessions.

·         Written summary of your experience  -  . DUE  May 29st

·         School Site

·         Teacher & contact information

·         Times that you met with the class / teacher.

·         Brief written summary of the work completed and your experience with the children / teacher.  Include photos!
