Pioneer Award
Awarded annually, the Pioneer Award is given to a person whose character places him/her in a position of leadership. It is designed for an individual who has taken risks. The award was created in 1979 and has been presented to individuals who lead their communities, states, and the nation in business, philanthropy, communications, government, education, or the arts. Determining the annual recipient of the Pioneer Award is a function of the Vice President for Public Affairs and Development. The recommendations are then approved by the university President. The award is presented at the annual Pioneer Award Gala held each May.
Honorary Degree
The UO began awarding honorary degrees in 1887 as a way to recognize individuals who had achieved outstanding scholarship or artistic achievement as well as performed extraordinary public service or distinguished service during their lifetime. The university President can recommend an individual to receive an honorary degree, but approval must also be gained from both the University Senate and the Oregon State Board of Higher Education. An honorary degree is generally conferred at a university commencement ceremony.

Presidential Medal
The Presidential Medal was established in 1991 to honor individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary service to the university and whose professional and personal leadership in the world community places them among the nations foremost citizens. Recipients are selected annually by the university President. Awards can be presented at Spring or Summer commencement, or at a private dinner at the Presidents home.

UO Distinguished Service Award
The Distinguished Service Award is presented to individuals who by their knowledge and skills have made a significant contribution to the cultural development of Oregon or society as a whole. These awards, determined by the UO faculty and followed by a vote in the University Senate, are presented at Spring commencement ceremonies. There is a limit of three awards per year.

UOAA Distinguished Alumni Award
This award, which began in 1967, is presented by the UO Alumni Association. It is bestowed on alumni of the university who have served the nation, state, or the university, or who have distinguished themselves by personal endeavor. Nominations for the award are solicited by the UOAA, and the annual recipient is selected by a committee of the UO Alumni Association. The award is generally presented in June.
UOAA Outstanding Young Alumni Award
The Outstanding Young Alumni Award was created in 1984 to recognize the achievement of a young alumnus/alumnae who has achieved significant accomplishments within fifteen years of graduation. The eligible candidates cannot be older than forty-one. Nominations are solicited by the UOAA, and the annual recipient is selected by a committee of the UO Alumni Association. The award is generally presented in June.
Jeanne Johnson Alumni Service Award
This award is presented by the UO Alumni Association to an individual for dedicated service to the Association. It recognizes the recipients efforts to bring alumni closer together and strengthen the Association as an organization. The award is presented annually, generally in June.
Webfoot Society
The Webfoot Society recognizes UO alumni who achieve a high degree of excellence in their professions and who serve as examples of the best the university has to offer. Alumni are chosen from the fields of business, arts and letters, sports, public service, science, or education. The awards were last given in 1988.
Lane County Alum of the Year
This award recognized outstanding contributions of alums living in Lane County, Oregon. The award is no longer presented.
Portland Alumni Spotlight Award
Presented by the Portland Chapter of the UO Alumni Association, the Spotlight Award recognizes outstanding alums living in the Portland, Oregon area. The award is presented each fall.
D.C. Distinguished Alumnus Award
Presented by the National Capitol Chapter of the UO Alumni Association, this award recognizes outstanding service and achievement by an alum living in the Washington, D.C. area. The award is generally presented in the spring.
New York Distinguished Alumni Service
On occasion, the New York Chapter of the UO Alumni Association honors a member of its chapter who has achieved success or contributed to the university.

Ellis F. Lawrence Award
Inaugurated in 1998, the Ellis F. Lawrence Award recognizes an alumnae/alumnus whose professional and personal achievements embody the integrity, educational philosophy, and commitment to ones chosen field as exemplified by Ellis Lawrence and established as tradition among the diverse disciplines of architecture and allied arts. Award recipients are chosen by the schools Faculty Advisory Committee. The awards are presented each spring during AAAs commencement ceremonies.

CAS Alumni Fellow
This program originally began in 1989 as the Deans Distinguished Alumni Award. Although the name of the award was changed in 1995 to the Alumni Fellows Award, the purpose remained the same: to recognize alumni who have distinguished themselves in their chosen professions within medicine, science, the arts, industry, public service, and academe. The awards are presented each October.
Alumni Achievement in Chemistry
This award is presented by the Department of Chemistry to recognize a chemistry alumnus or alumnae whose professional and personal achievements and qualities exemplify the Oregon spirit and traditions of leadership and excellence. The recipient is selected during Fall term by the faculty in the chemistry department, and there is no predetermined date for presentation.

LCB Visionaries Award-Trendsetter of the Year
The Trendsetter of the Year award is presented to individuals who achieve significant success in an entrepreneurial business endeavor; celebrate success through innovative ideas; demonstrate imagination in business practices; and whose entrepreneurial spirit is marked by foresight. The award is presented each Spring, and recipients are selected by Dean of the college.
LCB Visionaries Award-Lifetime Achievement
This award recognizes a distinguished business leader for a lifetime commitment to outstanding entrepreneurial endeavors. Selected individuals have the highest standards of professional excellence throughout his or her career and are an inspiration to others. The recipient must also have had a profound impact on the Lundquist College of Business.
LCB Business Leader of the Year
The Business Leader of the Year Award was presented to leaders in the state who blazed new paths and convinced others to follow; who challenged the concepts of business practices and social responsibility; whose very existence ecouraged the confrontation of the present while envisioning the future; and who through the strength of their convictions profoundly affected the way business was conducted. This award was presented annually from 19841991 and has been restructed into the colleges new Visionaries Awards.
LCB Visionaries Award-Alumni Trailblazer
Each Spring, the college honors an alumnae/alumnus who has achieved significant success in an entrepreneurial business endeavor; who celebrates success through innovative ideas; who demonstrates imagination in business practices; and whose entrepreneurial spirit is marked by foresight. Recipients are selected by the college Dean.
LCB Bowerman Innovation Award
The Bowerman Innovation Award recognizes the entrepreneurial spirit Bill Bowerman embodied. With the Bowerman Innovation Award, the Lundquist College of Business pays homage to the spirit of this legendary man and honors those who carry forth his legacy of inspiration and innovation to dramatically change a company, a region, and a world.

COE Outstanding Alumnus Award
This is the Colleges oldest awardcreated in 1989and recognizes contributions to education and society. The colleges alumni society selects the recipients and presents the awards each Spring.
COE Distinguished Service/Friend of Education Award
This award was created in 1996 to recognize an individuals impact on the College of Education or the education community. Award recipients are selected each Spring by the Dean of the college.
COE Alumni Association Regional Award-Community Award
This regional award is presented to a parent, community member, or organization for working to improve the quality of life (including educational climate) in the community. Recipients are selected by the colleges alumni society, and awards are presented each Spring.
COE Alumni Association Regional Award-Friend of Education
This regional award can be presented to local government officials, legislators, local agencies (health, judicial, human services) for work that significantly enhanced a local school district or the educational system. Recipients are selected by the colleges alumni society, and awards are presented each Spring.
COE Alumni Association Regional Award-Distinguished Alumnus
This regional award is presented to an alumnus for having a significant impact on education through innovative programs, leadership and/or community service. Recipients are selected by the colleges alumni society.
COE Alumni Association Regional Award-Business/Education Partnerships
This regional award is presented to business groups or organizations for contributions of time, expertise, financial support, or volunteer efforts within a specific region of the state. Recipients are selected by the colleges alumni society, and awards are presented each Spring.
COE Alumni Association Regional Award-Educational Excellence
The Educational Excellence award is presented regionally to a professional within the educational community for contributions that have had a significant impact on instructional programs, assessment programs and/or on the delivery of education. Recipients are selected by the colleges alumni society, and awards are presented each Spring.
COE Dedicated Duck
The Dedicated Duck Award was created in 1999 to recognize spirit and dedication to the College of Education. It is presented by the colleges alumni society.

Law Meritorious Service Award
The award was established in 1984 by the law school faculty. It is given annually to a person or persons who have made extraordinary contributions to legal education and the law. The recipient is chosen by the schools faculty. Presentation of the award takes place each June.
David B. Frohnmayer Award for Public Service
Presented annually to a graduate, faculty member, or friend whose public service brings honor to the school. Selected by the Law School Alumni Association in December of each year.

Hall of Achievement
Created in 1998, the Hall of Achievement honors the distinguished careers of former journalism school students and faculty members. Nominations to the Hall of Achievement can be of professionally active, retired, or deceased journalism students. Members of the Hall of Achievement have either demonstrated work that exemplifies the highest levels of career achievement; achieved the highest standards of teaching excellence, innovation, research, leadership; or have made significant contributions for the betterment of society through distinguished public service in industry or the community. Induction occurs each Fall.

This award is presented to an alumnus to recognize continued service to the School of Music and to the community. The award is presented annually, usually during Spring term.

Leo Harris Award
This award is presented to an alumnus letterman who has been out of college for twenty years and who has demonstrated continued service and leadership to the university. Harris was the University of Oregon's first Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. The recipient is chosen by the Athletic Director in consultation with the administration. The annual award is presented during half-time at a UO football game.
Becky L. Sisley Award
This award is given annually to a former UO women's varsity athlete who has been out of school 20-25 years and has earned distinction for herself in her profession or community service. Sisley served as the first and only Director of Women's Athletics from 1973-79. She also coached and was instrumental in creating a level playing field for women to compete in intercollegiate athletics. The award is presented at half-time of a UO women's basketball game.
