Is your classroom gender-imbalanced when it comes to attendance, engagement, or participation? Are you in a discipline with a historical preference for one gender? Do you have no idea how to recognize or address these issues? This reading group will meet every other week to discuss readings that address gender dynamics within the University. We will work together to be more aware of assumptions, attitudes and unconscious responses to gender in our teaching and in our students’ behavior. We’ll also discuss strategies for making our classrooms more equitable, and for tackling tough conversations about gender with our students and colleagues.
