TK-353

Scanning

  1. Systems can be scanned by pressing the Scan [S] key. The systems NOT locked out of the scanning sequence are scanned.
  2. To Lock out channels from being scanned, press the [A] key. If a channel is locked out, it will display a triangle next to the channel name.
  3. To go to quick scanning mode, press the Scan [S] key.

Telephone Calls (Half duplex; only works on radios equipped with keypads)

To place a call:

  1. Using the system/group keys ([B] or [C]), browse to the telephone number entered into your phone.
  2. Press the Push To Talk (PTT) button for a moment to ensure a connection. Release the PTT when you hear a dial tone.
  3. While holding the PTT enter the extension you wish to dial (ex: 6-1000). After dialing, release the PTT switch and wait for a response from the called party.
  4. When the called party responds, press the PTT switch and start speaking. Release the PTT to switch to listen. Only one person can speak at a time.
  5. To end the call, hold down the PTT switch and press the [#] key.

Scanning

  1. Turn on the phone and enter the password.
  2. Systems can be scanned by pressing the Scan [S] key. The systems NOT locked out of the scanning sequence are scanned.

Primary Channel (programmed by Radio Engineer)

  • To jump from a channel back to your primary channel, press the Orange key on the top panel of the radio.
  • How to place a telephone call (on radios programmed to do so, only half-duplex)

    1. Turn on the phone and enter the password.
    2. Select the desired extension using the System or Group Keys ([B] or [C]).
    3. Press and hold the Push To Talk (PTT) switch for approximately one second to ensure a connection. Confirm that there is a dial tone after you release the PTT.
    4. Press and hold the PTT switch, then dial using the front panel keypad. After dialing, release the PTT switch and wait for a response from the called party.
    5. When the called party responds, press the PTT switch and speak into the microphone. Release the PTT to recieve (only one person can speak at a time).
    6. To end the call, press and hold the PTT switch, then press the [#] key.

    TK-3180

    Scanning:

    1. Turn on the phone and enter the password.
    2. To activate Scan, press the Scan key [S]. To add a channel to your scan, press the [A] key-- a downwards arrow should appear on the screen when the zone is added to the scan sequence. To delete a channel from being scanned, press the [A] key on the channel you wish you delete.
    3. To stop scanning, press the Scan key [S] again.

    To get back to primary channel:

    • Press the orange button on the top panel of the 3180. This will automatically set your channel to your primary channel.

    Telephone Interconnect (How to place a call):

    1. Using the system/group keys ([B] or [C]), browse to the telephone number entered into your phone.
