Extreme Structures II : Mid-Rise/High-Rise

Course Description
to discover how and why mid- and high-rise structures have been designed historically; to investigate the factors which influence their design today; to provide a forum to postulate how they could be designed in the future.
Content
This seminar consists of weekly meetings to discuss readings and projects. It focuses on the parameters which influence the design of mid- and high-rise buildings. Invited guests will discuss how designers have used, and can use, these param
eters in their design process.
Format
Each seminar participant will be responsible for presenting a "lecture" on a chosen topic. This typically Monday event will be followed by a group discussion. The time Wednesday will be dedicated to the WWW based presentations of the individ
ual case study buildings to the group and WWW Guests.
