Email: smith@uoregon.eduMegan Smith, Director of the Resource Assistance for Rural Environments Program (RARE), focuses her efforts on assisting rural Oregon in addressing community development and natural resource issues. As Director of RARE, Megan is responsible for community and participant recruitment, training and the daily administration of the program. Her planning focus is on watershed management and the role of education and outreach in planning. Her teaching responsibilities include courses in Citizen Involvement (with Robert Choquette) and Watershed Planning.

For the CSC she is providing clerical and administrative support in travel, supplies, telecommunications, and other fields, especially in administration of the RARE program. She will be working part-time in a job sharing arrangement with Julie Foster, who (upon her return from maternity leave) will continue in her role of grants administrator.

She is responsible for the financial record keeping for all CSC activities which includes managing grants from state and federal agencies as well as billing and accounting for grants with 30 RARE communities and six to eight CPW projects each year. Julie is responsible for developing, processing, and tracking paperwork on contracts, billings, expenditures, reimbursements, appointments and payroll as well as producing financial reports on a quarterly basis.

Skipper McFarlane is the Graphic Designer for the Community Service Center (CSC). With a background in Graphic Design, Skipper is in charge of all publications, marketing materials and Web publishing related to CSC and its components. Skipper provides assistance to faculty, staff, students and participants in regards to utilizing graphics, page layout, and Web publishing.
Skipper also teaches Digital Letterform and Communication Design in the Multi-Media Design Program at the University of Oregon and shortcourses in Photoshop, PageMaker and FreeHand for the CSC.Skipper's recent projects include:
