Research interests : Novel electronic properties of amorphous Silicon (a-Si:H) and Silicon-Germanium alloys (a-Si1-xGex:H) etc materials & thin film solar cell devices. These also include studies of Copper Indium Diselenide & related alloys, micro and nano-crystalline Silicon materials. Study of defect states and understanding the physics of light induced metastability in the above materials and devices using admittance spectroscopy. Applications of various junction capacitance techniques like transient photo-capacitance and transient photo-current spectroscopies to study the subband gap optical spectra and minority carrier collections as well as drive level capacitance profiling to determine the deep defect density in amorphous semiconductors materials and devices. We are also working on variable temperature Electron Spin Resonance characterization of neutral dangling bond defects in amorphous semiconductors, voltage and light modulated ESR experiments to track charge trapping/de-trapping and spin sensitive transitions in these deep defect states.
