About SBG:

The Sustainable Business Group is a student-run club at the University of Oregon's Lundquist College of Business.  SBG was established in 2001, as an extension of the Sustainable Business Symposium (now called Sustainable Advantage).  SBG was established to raise awareness of sustainability issues continually throughout the year as opposed to a solely annual event.  Student interest in sustainability issues became apparent during the annual event.  In addition to interest, students expressed a desire to become more actively involved in topics of sustainability throughout the academic year.  SBG strives to satisfy the desires of those students.

 

Our Mission:

Our mission is to give students the tools necessary to leverage profitable businesses with corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability in a healthy economy. We also strive to raise awareness about these issues, which affect both global and local businesses.

We see ourselves as becoming a valuable asset to not only the University and the students, but to the local community as well. As our membership increases and our group develops, we will provide a platform for students to work with businesses both locally and nationally to gain experiential knowledge of sustainable practices in the business world. We will continue to bring to campus speakers in the cutting edge of their fields to represent sustainable practices in applications of business techniques.
