The Center for Nonproliferation Studies has a number of useful articles from the Nonproliferation Review.

The CIA has quite a bit of information on nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction, including reports on the Acquisition of Technology Relating to Weapons of Mass Destruction and Advanced Conventional Munitions, detailing who sold what to whom how recently.

Other good sources for nuclear information include the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists. They have special collections regarding nuclear proliferation in Iran, Iraq, and Israel. 

In terms of policy options, there are several sources which contain information on the efficacy of different approaches.

  1. Those seeking a UN resolution condemning Iran's acquisition might want to look at Security Council resolution 1172 (1998) on international peace and security, condemning India and Pakistan's tests.
  2. Economic sanctions on India and Pakistan have had variable effects, as documented in the CNS study The Economic Impacts of the 1998 Sanctions on India and Pakistan
  3. Finally, those seeking an analogous program to the North Korean effort can look at the CNS report on The Korean Peninsula Energy Development Organization Achievements and Challenges.
