Bring Recycling and
Building Deconstruction

Eugene's local recycling company (Bring Recycling) has brought recycling to a new level. You can contract them for a "Deconstruction" project for your house or building. Not only can you save land fill space but in most cases you can have a building removed cheaper than traditional "Demolition" costs. By Deconstruction you not only save the reused materials and the resources that it took to produce them but you also save the resources it would take produce the new materials that you would have to buy.

The photos below are of a building that was originally built in 1910. Most of the lumber, paneling, floor boards and shingle siding were saved from the land fill and sold to contractors that jumped at the chance to get good quality old growth lumber and materials. The front part of the building in the pictures was being saved as a whole section to be reused in the building of Bring's new facility in the Glenwood area. It is also going to be used as an educational aid to show the public more about Deconstruction and reuse of building materials.
