2001 REDUCED WASTE WILLAMETTE VALLEY FOLK FEST
This year, Campus Recycling created a reduced waste Folk Festival. All of the plates, wax cups, napkins, chopsticks and paper boats were composted in public waste station areas in addition to low grade paper and bottles/cans recycling. The traditional food booth recycling and composting was expanded at this event and yielded one ton of compost and 66% reduction in overall waste.
